Assoc. Prof. Ertuğrul Başar has been elevated to IEEE Fellow for his contributions to physical-layer design for next-generation wireless networks. IEEE Fellow is a distinction reserved for select IEEE members whose extraordinary accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest are deemed fitting of this prestigious grade elevation.

The European Research Council (ERC), which provides Europe’s most prestigious scientific research support, found only four researchers from Turkey worthy of Starting Grant this year. We congratulate our Industrial Engineering Faculty Member, Barış Yıldız, for his significant achievement.

Prof. Halil Kavaklı, from the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering received the Aziz Sancar Science Award for his studies in the fields of DNA repair and circadian rhytm. Elektrik-Elektronik Mühendisliği Bölümü'nden Doç.Dr.Sedat Nizamoğlu, fototıp ve biyoelektronik alanındaki araştırmalarıyla Aziz Sancar Teşvik Ödülü'nü aldı. Teşvik ödülünün sahipleri, çalışmalarıyla bilime uluslararası düzeyde önemli katkılar sağlama potansiyelini kanıtlamış,40 yaşın altındaki bilim insanlarıdır. The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) announced the results of “YÖK 2022 Outstanding Achievement Awards”, which were presented on 10th October during the Opening Ceremony of the 2022-2023 Academic Year. The Science Diplomacy Award, which was initiated this year, was presented to Assoc. Prof. Sedat Nizamoğlu from our Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering during the ceremony.
