We are excited to announce funding of our cutting-edge research project titled "Smart Multifunctional Composite Metamaterials for Tailored and Tunable Mechanical Properties." This prestigious project, financed by the US Air Force, is a collaborative effort involving Koç University, the University of Stuttgart, and KU Leuven. Prof. Ipek Basdogan will be working in collaboration with her 2 former Koc University PhD students Assist. Prof. Amirreza Aghakhani and Assist. Prof. Gokhan Serhat in this project. The main goal is to develop advanced metamaterials with dynamic and customizable mechanical properties for aerospace applications. The team will be involved in pioneering research aimed at exploring the exciting advancements in composite metamaterials, known as metastructures, which offer unique opportunities to engineer structures with exceptional physical properties that cannot be achieved via regular materials.
